From managing bank accounts and updating a social media site to purchasing airline tickets, people depend on the technology to manage their everyday, routine tasks more efficiently and conveniently. Businesses and organizations are also taking advantage of these services, and they rely on it not only for customer-related applications,

but also for such functions as data storage and management.

However, one question on cloud-based services remains: How secure is the information you upload and supply? Although most businesses and services utilize reliable data centers and servers, the constant, seemingly never-ending flow of public and private information— names, addresses, Social Security numbers, credit card numbers—makes security the No. 1 concern among consumers who utilize these services.

For many, the notion of sending important information into the unknown—even sites labeled as secure—can be unnerving. Furthermore, businesses and organizations accustomed to storing their data on a local hard drive may have reservations about where the information is going and who has access to it.

Fortunately, cloud computing security takes most of the risks out of online transactions and gives users and businesses the peace of mind that their submitted and stored information is safe.
